INTRO LEAGUE - Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Wilmette Baseball Association Introduction to Baseball League is focused on learning FUNdamentals of baseball. Objectives are to improve basic skills (throwing, catching, batting and base running) and to develop an atmosphere of fun while learning the game. Each team will have 6 games with one of the being at Roemer Park. 

Ages - Kindergartners with Experience*/1st Grade 

(*WBA welcomes kindergartners with baseball experience such as one year of tee ball or a class through the the Wilmette Park District or Illinois Baseball Academy. If not, we recommend starting your kindergartner with a class through the Wilmette Park District or Illinois Baseball Academy.  We do not permit players to "play up", you must play with your current grade in school.)

Practice - Practices Saturday and Sunday (each week based upon parent/coach availability)

Games - Games held once a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday

Where They Play - Central School, or McKenzie School.  Teams will play one game at historic Roemer Park.

How Teams are Formed - Teams will be formed using school affiliation through the buddy system.   WBA is a volunteer organization and needs parents to volunteer to coach. Please register to coach your players team. 

Cost - $275 for 2024 season Includes hat and jersey (White pants and mitt to be provided by player)

Season Dates (2024) - Approx. April 22 through June 23, 2024

Please note, we may not be able to honor buddy requests after the registration deadline.  Registration Closes March 15th.
